Ingredients
- 3/4 cup(s) unsalted butter
- 6 cup(s) sliced peaches or apples
- 3 cup(s) sugar
- 1 1/2 cup(s) all-purpose flour
- 1 1/2 teaspoon(s) baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon(s) salt
- 3/4 teaspoon(s) cinnamon
- 1 1/2 cup(s) milk
- 2/3 teaspoon(s) vanilla extract
Directions
- In a 9 x 13-inch glass dish melt the butter.
- In a large bowl combine the fruit and 1-1/2 cups of sugar.
- In a separate bowl sift together the flour, baking powder, salt and cinnamon.
- Add the remaining milk, 1-1/2 cups sugar and vanilla to the dry ingredients, mixing well.
- Stir the batter into the butter in the prepared dish.
- Top with the fruit mixture.
- Bake in a preheated 350f oven for 35 minutes.
- Increase temperature to 400f and bake until golden around the edges.
- Serve warm with cream on top for breakfast, or with an ice cream topping for a dinner dessert.
